3. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you interact with the Services and which features you choose to use.
3.1 Account and Profile Information
When a Smart Business Card is created or managed, we may collect information such as:
- name;
- business or organization name;
- job title or professional role;
- profile photograph or logo;
- email address;
- telephone number;
- business address;
- website;
- social media profiles;
- messaging links;
- booking or scheduling links;
- portfolio links;
- business descriptions;
- products and services;
- account identifiers;
- authentication and login information; and
- other information you choose to include in your Smart Business Card.
3.2 Public Smart Business Card Information
A core purpose of Smart Business Card is to allow Card Owners to share professional and business information with other people.
Information that a Card Owner chooses to publish on a Smart Business Card may therefore be publicly accessible to anyone who accesses the profile, follows its link, or scans its QR code.
Depending on the information selected by the Card Owner, this may include:
- name;
- profile photograph;
- business or organization;
- job title;
- telephone number;
- email address;
- website;
- social media accounts;
- business address;
- products or services;
- portfolio information;
- booking links; and
- other information intentionally published by the Card Owner.
Card Owners are responsible for determining what information they make publicly available and for ensuring they have the authority and appropriate consent to publish information relating to other individuals or organizations.
Information made publicly available may be copied, saved, shared, indexed, photographed, screenshotted, downloaded, or otherwise used by third parties. We cannot control how third parties use information after it has been made publicly available.
4. QR Code, Visitor and Usage Information
When someone accesses or scans a Smart Business Card or otherwise interacts with the Services, certain technical and usage information may be collected automatically.
This may include:
- date and time of a visit or scan;
- IP address;
- browser type;
- device type;
- operating system;
- referring page or source;
- approximate geographic location derived from an IP address;
- Smart Business Card profile views;
- QR code scans;
- links or buttons selected;
- contact-save interactions;
- engagement activity;
- application activity; and
- technical, diagnostic, security, and error information.
We may use this information to operate the Services, provide analytics to Card Owners, understand how the Services are used, maintain security, detect misuse, troubleshoot technical problems, and improve functionality.
Approximate Location
Where location analytics are provided, location may be estimated from technical information such as an IP address. Such information is approximate and may not accurately identify a visitor’s actual physical location.
We do not represent IP-based location information as precise GPS location.
5. Mobile Application Information
If Smart Business Card makes a mobile application available, the App may collect or access information depending on the functionality you use and permissions you grant through your device.
This may include:
- account and profile information;
- device type and operating-system information;
- device or application identifiers;
- IP address;
- application usage and diagnostic information;
- crash and performance information;
- camera access for scanning QR codes or other supported functionality;
- photo or media access where you choose to upload a profile image, logo, or other content;
- contact-related functionality where you specifically choose to save, import, share, or otherwise interact with contact information; and
- notifications where you choose to enable push notifications.
Where your mobile operating system requires permission before the App can access a device feature, we will rely on the applicable operating-system permission mechanism.
You may be able to change or revoke App permissions through your device settings. Disabling a permission may prevent certain App features from functioning correctly.
The specific information and permissions used by the App may change as features are introduced or modified. This Privacy Policy will be updated where appropriate to reflect material changes in our practices.
6. Lead Capture Information
Some Smart Business Cards may allow visitors to voluntarily provide contact information or submit an inquiry.
Depending on the functionality being used, visitors may provide information such as:
- name;
- email address;
- telephone number;
- company or organization;
- message or inquiry; and
- other information voluntarily entered into a form.
Information submitted through a Card Owner’s lead-capture functionality may be made available to that Card Owner.
Once information has been provided to a Card Owner, the Card Owner may independently use that information for its own business purposes. The Card Owner is responsible for complying with applicable privacy, anti-spam, marketing, and other laws relating to its subsequent use of that information.
Smart Business Card and Boost Local Business are not responsible for a Card Owner’s independent handling or use of information after that information has been provided to the Card Owner.
7. Analytics Provided to Card Owners
Depending on the subscription or features enabled, Card Owners may receive analytics concerning interactions with their Smart Business Card.
Analytics may include:
- QR code scans;
- profile views;
- approximate visitor locations;
- device information;
- link clicks;
- engagement statistics;
- contact-save activity; and
- trends over time.
Analytics are intended to help Card Owners understand general engagement with their digital business card.
Analytics may be affected by VPNs, proxies, privacy tools, browser settings, bots, network configurations, blocked scripts, device configurations, and other technical factors. We therefore do not represent that analytics will always be complete or perfectly accurate.
